Association of Automobile Industry in Finland has 27 members. Its members account for more than 99% of new vehicle sales in Finland, and include importers and manufacturers of passenger cars, vans, buses and trucks and car industry. The purpose of the Association is to ensure proper operating conditions for its members both in the short and long term.

The Association is an expert organization, which follows and participates in the development of legislation concerning the automotive industry. In addition, the Association participates in the development of research within the industry. The activities of the Association focus on the taxation of road transport, technical regulations concerning vehicles, traffic safety and environmental issues related to road transport.

Association is also the owner of Finnish Car Recycling Ltd, which is a producer association coordinating the collection, treatment and recycling of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) and electric vehicle traction batteries in accordance with the requirements of legislation.

The Association is a member of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and participates in the work of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
